Background: Augmented 3D User Interface for volume exploration allows users to intuitively explore volumetric data by utilizing tangible markers and their personal mobile devices. Technology Overview: Proposed technology utilizes a computer vision system approach. Real-world visuals are integrated, creating an augmented reality system with volume data. Markers allow users to perform complex manipulations. Advantages: Natural user interface for the exploration of volume data (e.g medical scans). Allows for the generation of novel views into the data, simply by moving the device in relation to a fiducial marker.
