Novel framework called MemeViz, that allows users to fuse data charts with thematic images related to data.
Information age is upon us and in recent years millions of terabytes of data are generated every day. This growing chunk of data is related to personal lives- information about ourselves and communities and issues that have a personal relevance. In efforts of making sense of it, they have turned information into visuals. These visuals are designed to represent opinions and alongside using charts.
Framework uses what is known about the data and automatically queries web-scale image search engines such as Google Image for a set of images matching the user's choice. Data memes appeal to masses by embracing mainly basic charts, specifically pie, line and bar charts.
General users are indeed more engaged with data when presented in a data meme, as opposed to a conventional chart. Data Memes are artitic visuals of data in which data is merged with an image such that structure of image will support meaning.
