Manipulation of Gut Hormones to Treat Obesity Related Diabetes
SUNY Upstate Medical University researchers have developed a novel
treatment for Type 2 diabetes involving the gut hormones PYY and ghrelin. The
two hormones work together to reduce feelings of hunger and the treatment
induces weight loss. As obesity is a major causal factor of Type 2 diabetes,
weight loss can mitigate or resolve the diabetic state. This treatment is a
