Background:

The electrochemical activation process is well known in the water treatment purification industry.

This invention relates to a treated particle having a core particle that is fully coated by a dual-layer coating. A hydrophobic polymer in the outer layer contains branched moieties that penetrate through the inner layer as to anchor said inner layer onto the surface of the core particle.
